Meet Kiralee and Seth from Palmwoods
The New Year is often a time for reflection, growth, and setting goals, and for Kiralee and Seth, their journeys at Palmwoods are a perfect example of how small beginnings can turn into something lasting!
From Then to Now

In the first photo, Kiralee was just 10 years old, swimming at Palmwoods through our Learn to Swim program before progressing into squad. Seth, aged 6, completed his lessons at Buderim but was often at Palmwoods visiting. Even at that age, Seth confidently said he would work here when he was old enough.
Now, years later, both have turned those early experiences into reality.
Growing with the Centre
Kiralee is now 18 and began working at Palmwoods on 17 October 2021. Starting as a Customer Service Officer, she moved into a Lifeguard role and has recently become a Swim School Teacher. Her journey reflects commitment, growth, and a desire to keep learning.
When asked why she loves the centre, Kiralee said:
“I liked my swimming teachers and the squad coach. I like working here because I really love Jenny and all the staff that I work with, they are my work family. Now that I have finished school I want to be here more permanently doing CSO, LG and now LTS shifts. I do not want to work anywhere else.”
Turning Goals into Reality
Seth joined the Palmwoods team on 23 July 2025, starting as a CSO as soon as he turned 15. His childhood goal of working at the centre has now become part of his present.
Reflecting on his time as a student, Seth shared:
“When I was a kid I liked how the staff and teachers looked after the kids and how nice they were, plus they sold Up & Go poppers.”
As a staff member, his focus has shifted to learning and growth.
“Now as a 15 year old I like how understanding the staff are about teaching new people skills which I need to complete my CSO role. Staff here are really nice.”
New Year, Looking Ahead
The New Year is about setting intentions and continuing to grow, and both Kiralee and Seth are doing just that. Whether it’s developing new skills, taking on more responsibility, or building long term careers, they are starting the year with clear goals and a strong connection to the centre that helped shape them.
Kiralee and Seth are wonderful team members, and we are incredibly lucky to have them at Palmwoods Aquatic Centre.
