Despite the wet and wild weather, spirits were high at this year’s Mooloolaba Triathlon, held along the iconic Sunshine Coast beachfront. With over 30 years of history, the event continues to be one of Australia’s premier triathlons and this year, Coolum Aquatic Centre was proud to be part of it both on and off the course.
The conditions may have been rainy, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of athletes and volunteers alike. Among the standout stories was Esteban Cultraro, who represented Coolum with strength and determination. Esteban powered through the swim, bike, and run to finish an impressive 23rd overall and 6th in his age category – a fantastic achievement in a highly competitive field.
It wasn’t just about racing, it was also about community. Our very own Mauricio, head coach of the Coolum squad program, gave back by volunteering as a Marshall at the swim leg start line. His efforts helped ensure a smooth experience for all athletes and also raised funds in support of the Coolum Swim Club. (Check out our photos below!)
Congratulations to Esteban, thank you to Mauricio, and hats off to every athlete, volunteer, and supporter who braved the elements to make it such a great day.
We’re already looking forward to next year – rain or shine!
