Earlier this month, Cotton Tree Swimming Centre proudly welcomed athletes, families, and supporters for an exciting weekend of competition. On 5th and 6th September, the centre hosted its Long Course Prep Meet, attracting more than 240 athletes alongside a fantastic crowd of spectators.
Hosting more than 240 competitors is no small feat, and Cotton Tree was buzzing across the two-day event. The meet not only gave athletes a chance to sharpen their skills for the season ahead but also highlighted the strength of our local swimming community.
Just a few weeks later, on 21st September, Cotton Tree had the privilege of hosting the Australian Winter Swimming Association (WSAA) National Championship. The facility was alive with energy, welcoming just under 700 swimmers, plus an enthusiastic audience of supporters. It was an inspiring sight to see athletes travel from far and wide to compete at our pool, making the day a true celebration of national swimming talent.
Events like these are at the heart of what Cotton Tree represents, bringing people together through sport, teamwork, and community spirit. The smiles on the athletes’ faces and the support from spectators made both September meets truly memorable for everyone involved.
The Long Course Prep Meet and WSAA National Championship were wonderful successes, and we couldn’t be prouder of the athletes who competed and the community who came out in support. A big thank you goes to everyone who helped bring these events to life – from the athletes, coaches, and volunteers, to the families and fans in the stands. We look forward to hosting many more exciting meets in the future!
